Violence against women and their bodies. En la calle 24, a domestic noir by Ana Masago

Abstract

En la calle 24 a novel written by the Spanish Ana Masago (2024) is a crime novel considered by the author herself as a domestic noir. This novel begins with a crime and its investigation, but also presents and discusses themes related to the domestic environment, such as violence against women and their bodies. The objective of this work is to understand what is known as domestic noir and to analyze the violence against the female characters represented. We can observe that, by challenging patriarchal power, women are shown as strong characters who project their voices within a genre traditionally characterized by male power.
