The Cognitive Linguistics gives us a new perspective in viewing the humor analyzes, more specifically on the analysis of the stand-up genre. In this work, the objective is to understand what is the path taken by a comedian in the constructionof a joke to result in laughter emanating from the audience and the reasons which thisact is defeated. It is well known that humor can be considered an exemplification ofthese processes whose laughter comes from funny situations that are not alwaysimagined at first by the receiver and this ends up causing an unexpected reactioncausing, what we call expectation break, but this it is not the only reason that the joke is based on and occurs. During this work we will understand how cognitive linguistics canhelp us in this system of meaning. Studies in the area of cognition initiating the process studied by Fillmore (1972.1975), Reddy (1979), Lakoff & Johnson (1980), among others which dealing with the need for external issues of the linguistic framework so that the ommunication between partners is more complete. The encyclopedic knowledge becomes fundamental for the creation of new meanings from the existing and previous sense acquired through frames that are activated in metaphors which merge and form such notion. To do so, the analysis is structured from the diagram presented by Fauconnier (1985) where all the mentioned process takes place and thus, you can see that domains sharing between the audience and the comedian is what makes the creation of the comic at the time of punch-line of the apex and you cannot reach everyone because not everyone has the same sense of concepts of the showman himself.
