A Consolidação da Revolução Cognitiva e a Linguística: umabreve análise das contribuições de estudos empíricos com indivíduosacometidos por patologias da linguagem

Abstract

This paper aims at presenting a reflection on the transformation of language studies and its interfaces since the consolidation of the cognitive revolution in the 20th century. Specifically, we debate the contribution of investigating deviant grammars, such as the ones from individuals with Dementia of the Alzheimer's Type, for the study of language as a mental system. To that end, we present, in a historical perspective, the first discoveries of speech-language patholy cases in Neuroscience and its unfolding for studies on language and its interface with other cognitive functions. Finally, we discuss the relationship between neurolinguistic studies and theoretical proposals on language.
