Abstract

In 1971, Alberto Pidwell Tavares makes the decision to abandon painting 
definitively. But how this decision, which repeats in eco the gesture of Bartleby, affects the development of the al bertiana's literary figure? How does the SELF that writes  leave behind the OTHER that paints?
