The construction of the intellectual in the correspondence between Jorge de Sena and José Régio (1946-1969)

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the correspondence between Jorge de Sena and José Régio in the years of 1946-1969. The period that make up the exchange of ideas between the two intellectuals shows the maturation and the formation of Jorge de Sena as writer and intellectual. From the point of view of José Régio, one observes the refinement of his writing. In spite of different positions on different themes (politics, literature, education etc.), the exchange of experiences between the two intellectuals represents a plural form of knowing a little more about the perspectives of both writers: Jorge de Sena, in constant movement for countries, and José Régio, in Portugal.
