The pedagogical experience is is class taught by a 4th year student of the Degree in Language and Literature undergraduate course at a public university in the Western region of Paraná as part of the evaluative activities of the Lexical Semantic discipline. The subjective evaluation of the class made by the teacher of the discipline based on the observation of the students' reaction shows that the intended learning objectives were achieved: the students got to know and reflected on the traditionalism of the naming process of men and the greater openness to innovation of the naming process of women and understood both processes as caused by the influence of patriarchy that still characterizes Brazilian society specifically and Western society in general
