Discourse, ideology and control: the revolution feeling in Animal Farm, by George Orwell

This paper takes into account the relation between speech and ideology when it
approaches the relations between discourse and power in Animal Farm, by
George Orwell. According to Maingueneau (2007), the discourse of an identity is
not limited to the vocabulary or sentences, however, is associated to a global comprehension that links the textual dimensions to a sociohistorical representation system. As from these assumptions, the otherness becomes
essential for the discursive formations in the social imaginary formation (PÊCHEAUX, 2009). In that analyzed literary work, published in 1945, we can
notice the discursive subjectification in the construction of a satire of the Stalinist
